My words to share with others

Be yourself, believe in yourself and seize opportunities - you are capable of so much more than you imagine.

My proudest achievement

Being Mum to two clever and kind young men and wife to another, slightly older one. (Delivering the Gender Pay Gap legislation and the 30 hours Free Childcare policy were good too!)

My thoughts on feminism and women’s suffrage

My feminism, in the words of Caitlin Moran, is neither exclusively ‘pro-women’ nor ‘anti-men’ – just ‘Thumbs up for the six billion’. It’s about sticking together and calling out injustice wherever we find it.
